Показать описание
We tried to dig and pour the footers before the rains came, but, alas, we didn't quite make it. Still turned out fine in the end, but it was certainly more stressful than would have been if we had beaten the rains.

Beaver Lick Homestead is Christopher and Justine. We are building a home and a homestead in Kentucky.

Beaver - A large semiaquatic herbivorous rodent, having webbed hind feet and a broad flat scaly tail; known for its industriousness.

Lick - a small watercourse or an ephemeral stream commonly found in eastern Kentucky.

Homestead - the home and adjoining land occupied by a family.

So even if the sides of the pour were not perfectly square: how do you make sure that the top of the pour was perfectly level? And with the block can you correct any small horizontal deviations from level?

How long does it take for footing completely to dry up before pouring concrete? Also do you need to compact it ?
Thanks
