as a 6th grader that taught himself algebra, when i seen this formula i was like "what?", but it took id say like 10 minutes and i understood how to use it and remembered it completely, now drawing that on paper is no more harder than writing 5 as e^(ln(5)), and also in the quadratic formula, what you plug for a, b and c are the multipliers, I'll show you: 3x²+8x+7, a=3, b=8, c=7

idk if this works for everyone but for me it did. in the quadratic formula remember the b^2-4ac as "D" and then the whole thing becomes kinda easy, cos usually if ur tryna find out if the equation is real or not u gotta equate D so u can just input the D value in the equation and life gets a bit easier

D=b²-4ac
Q.F= -b±√D/2a

You could also think about where it came from:
ax² + bx + c = 0
So x² + (b/a)x + c/a =0
So (x+b/(2a))² - b²/(4a²) + c/a= 0
So
x + b/(2a) = sqrt[ (b²/(4a²) - (4ac)/(4a²)]
So
x = - b/2a +/- [sqrt(b² - 4ac)]/2a
= [ - b +/-sqrt(b² - 4ac)]/2a
