Modeled after the classic fastback, the 2017 Ford Mustang has a sleek, sporty, aerodynamic look, standard HID headlamps, and tri-bar LED taillamps with sequential turn signals.

Enthusiast customers will continue to enjoy the original pony car’s range of powerful engines. The standard 3.7-liter V6 offers up 300 horsepower and 280 lb.-ft. of torque, while the available 2.3-liter EcoBoost® puts out 310 horsepower* and 320 lb.-ft. of torque*. Mustang GT’s 5.0-liter V8 engine kicks out 435 horsepower* and 400 lb.-ft. of torque*. All Mustang models come with a dual exhaust system.

The 2017 Mustang chassis features an integral link independent rear suspension that helps minimize body roll and isolate road imperfections for a responsive ride and precise handling.

The popular Pony Package includes 19-inch polished aluminum wheels, unique upper grille with classic tri-bar pony logo and side stripes. The available Performance Package includes a 3.55 limited-slip differential, increased-diameter antiroll bars, larger brake rotors, heavy-duty springs and unique chassis tuning.

Mustang features available SYNC® 3 enhanced voice recognition communications and entertainment system. An available 8-inch LCD capacitive touch screen in the center stack has swipe and pinch-to-zoom capabilities, AppLink™, 911 Assist®, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Buyers can now opt for three new colors including Lightning Blue, Grabber Blue and White Platinum Metallic Tri-coat.

My son just picked up a used 2017 GT premium with 6spd Manual, and I have to say I am really impressed with the car. It definitely has a European flair with American muscle vibe. Drives and handle wonderfully, and sounds great. A joy to drive! the only down side is that the rear seat area is way to small of a space to be truly viable. But other then that it ticks all the boxes!

Great review. As a former owner of a 2015 Mustang RS3 and I just picked up my 2017 Mustang RS3 I am loving all of the little refinements that was made to the car especially the new SYNC system with Apple play. Once again great review.

The new GTs are sweet however the old foxbody 5.0s will never lose their status as well as the 03-04 Terminators.

I'll admit: I'm a Mustang fan. This generation is amazing in absolute terms. You even profiled the exact spec I'd order for a GT (love Ruby Red). However, in relative terms, you have to hand it to GM... the Camaro outperforms the Mustang in so many ways, and across the lineup. To make matters worse, the 1LE SS outperforms the GT350 for much less money and no dealer "ADM." now, I prefer the Mustang styling and interior (and visibility) and would rather buy a Ford.... but I may go ZL1 for nearly the same MSRP as the GT350 (which means I can be out the door for less money with the superior ZL1). Urgh.... hope we see an amazing GT500 in a couple weeks, and that Ford makes the Mustang competitive with the soon-to-be-announced 2018 refresh.
