Excellent presentation. I've been low carb since October 2021 after being diagnosed with diabetes (successfully remitted and now metabolically healthy yay!) and there was very little support available at that time. It is good to see that this is now being addressed. I have watched a large number of videos since that time and still watch them for ideas, learning and encouragement and I also enjoy hearing stories of people who are succeeding with improving their health by changing what they eat. I also want to add that this was a good overview, providing a broad amount of information with enough explanation without going too deep and being overwhelming (this can make it stressful and confusing and make it harder for people to make the decision to start). I'd like to encourage people to at the very least try it. I didn't know if it would work and made the decision to be serious about it for 3 months. After only about 1 week I noticed that me sleep quality improved. It's now been >2.5 years.

Great to see Diabetes Australia finally stepping up. Now they just need to remove the breakfast pancakes with honey and other wildly inappropriate recipes off their website.

Thank you. I have learned a lot and know that I am now on the right path and my health is already showing the positive progress it needs.

Great broadcast with some good sense recommendations, especially the one about slowly lowering your carb intake which I did at first and it worked fine. My A1C dropped from 9.0 to 5.9 (American units). Then I fell off the wagon. 😮 Tired of feeling like crap and wanting to keep all ten of my toes I had to change. My A1C was 11. 🤯 I decided to bring my carbs down as close to zero as possible. Well, now I know what Keto flu is. 😁 I stuck it out and it took 2 weeks to get my energy back and get rid of the brain fog, but I'm on the other side. A1C is 6.2 now down from 11. Just have to keep on keepin on. Hopefully everyone else does to. Don't beat yourself up when you screw up. 👍

I'm a recovering type II diabetic. I don't eat bread at all because it has sugar in it. I was surprised at that until I realized why they add it...because if they didn't it would taste like cardboard. Ditto with "healthy" cereal. What?! Special K and Total have sugar in it?! Yep, it does. 😢
I can eat Avocados everyday as I live in Texas so the cost is fairly low since we get them from Mexico and California.

Great presentation from fabulous speakers from the low carb community. That Diabetes Australia has now embraced options is a wonderful breakthrough. So many people can now benefit from the power of lowering carbohydrates and hence insulin. Hyperinsulinaemia is rife.

Is there a GI list for meals, rather than just single ingredients?

These experts have no clue the single biggest factor in both forms of diabetes is that dietary fat causes insulin resistance eat extremely low-fat under 10 g per day, and a high carbohydrate diet to improve insulin sensitivity. Fond, then you’ve ever done before, Carbs FTW!! 💪💪💪
