1. Sort out accommodation (rental market is competitive)
2. Figure out how you will get around (save for a bike)
3. Consider the language difference( you should be okay with English or German)
4. Have enough money to cover two months of living expenses as pay is monthly and at the end of the month
5. Have the right clothes for Dutch weather. It gets cold in winter and rains a lot.
6. Account for the cost of taking Dutch classes. Beginner classes are usually the most expensive and can be up to 1000 Euros.
7. Learn to swim. It's compulsory for children in the Netherlands to learn to swim so it's awkward for an adult who doesn't know how to swim.

On the language barrier as a native Dutchie I'd say in 70% of cases basic German could also help.

I know basic german and my cousins live in the NL so i’ve learned a bit but a way to go, im moving over there at the end of the year from sweden, i loved NL!!! Its such a big difference from sweden people dont realize... the social people and the love you get is something else!! In Sweden everyone is very very antisocial and depressed theres no love between people they’re very awkward and so much more i could write a book... im just happy i have family in NL so i can move there

If you plan to bike around, invest in a ggod quality rain wear (coat and pants), it rains a lot in Holland.
