I walked into a store and an hour later walked out with the exact Grand Seiko model I wanted. Not possible with Rolex.

I’m fortunate to own Several GS’s and Own Rolex Master Batman version, I have over 50 Watchs in my collection, I had to have at least 1 Rolex, waited a long time for it, Love them Both, I do agree the Rolex holds its Value and then some currently, but that’s not why I personally bought it, to make money. I don’t buy and Sell Watch’s. I wear the GS’s more, love the Dials and the Movements, yes the Bracelets fall short of the Rolex but I start more conversations with the GS’s with People that are more “down to earth”. Rolex like most people, I get questions like “what do I do for a Living”? “ Is It Real”? The GS’s Just Feels And looks better on My Wrist and that makes me very happy.

Yes Grand Seiko is better than Rolex but so are alot of watch brands just people don't buy Rolex because it's better they buy because the name only

The citizen eco drive is better than everyone, titanium, sapphire and more accurate for the budget price

Always comes down to what value proposition appeals to you. Be it value for money, engineering, design, public appeal, social perception, materials etc

Having owned both I vote Rolex. Better all round especially when it comes to the bracelet and clasp. At the end of the day it’s down to personal taste and for the haters (or those that can’t afford or want to wait for a Rolex) it’s an easy bandwagon to jump on and a viable alternative to Rolex.

In my neck of the woods GS is almost unknown. That's a very important reason to have one. You wear a Rolex to impress others. You wear the GS because you don't need to impress.

Resale is the problem. People that don't know watches think Seiko is a mall brand and would never want to say they're wearing a Seiko. But quality and innovation, Seiko is awesome
