Quest 3S is Out! Better Low Light Tracking, Phone In VR, Updates & Tons More!

In today’s video, we’ve got a ton of exciting updates in the world of VR. First off, the Quest 3S is officially out now, and it’s already making waves, becoming the top-selling console on Amazon! We’ll also talk about the Quest 3S’s improved low-light tracking, making it even better than the Quest 3 in those conditions.

Next, we’ll look at the upcoming Motorola Smart Connect app, which promises to bring your phone to Quest. We’ll also discuss the newly released Facebook and Instagram apps for the Quest which seem to be a lot more complete and nice looking.

In other news, Meta’s CTO has confirmed that they’re working on a glasses project, alongside their earbuds, despite the cancellation of the Quest Pro 2. We’ll also cover the graphical update for Moss and Moss: Book II.

Lastly, we’ve got exciting gaming news—Gunman Contracts, one of the best mods for Half-Life: Alyx, is being developed into a full standalone VR game.

Q3S has dual IR illuminators, it was clearly built for hand tracking... so it should have better depth mapping overall than Q3

the 300$ price point is amazing,
personally I could live without the pancake lenses the fresnel ones get it done just fine for me
and as for the passthrough, its really great !

I got mine on Tuesday morning. I'm torn. I love it but think I would have preferred the 3. However, I would have had to wait to have enugu money for the 3. I told my husband that if I use the 3s as much as I anticipate, I want to replace it with the 3 (or 4, if it takes a long time) and will let my kids have the 3s.

Cameras in earbuds actually make a ton of sense in inside out tracking! Youd get better shoulder tracking and controller tracking! I'd be down as long as it is wired, I'm reaching my limit of battery running devices strapped to my head.

One use I could think of for the earbud cameras is to extend the viewing angles of quest devices but I'm not sure if that would be their main reason for making those
