Union leaders laughed after the Tory MP Chris Loder asked if they take direction from the Labour party, during an evidence session with the transport committee.

All three union leaders burst into laughter, before Mick Whelan of Aslef told MPs on the committee that there had been no direct discussion in relation to the current dispute coming from the Labour leadership.

The unions get directions from their members, with a democratic vote to strike!

Everybody has just had enough!!

I watched the full hour of questioning in this meeting. The three leaders dealt with the attempts like this very well. They did genuinely opened the eyes of most, of not all MP’s on the select committee. I would love to find the video of the employers and ministers who came next. Any clues please?

I find it quite ridiculous a conservative mp asking a trade union representative if they get direction for the Labour party....who's pulling the conservatives strings is more the question...big business and shady think tanks I'm guessing all with there own agenda, s...that's not forgetting the conservative party donars who want a PIECE of the action to.

Wouldn't it be the other way around? After all, the unions give money to the labour party, not the other way around

Have the rail companies taken direction from the tories? We already know they do.

Just when you think the Tories couldn’t get any lower, they scrape the barrel of satire.

Out of curiosity does anyone know how much these question committees cost to put on, because what I’ve seen today it’s a total waste of tax payers money.
