Honestly you can do it.

Using the code "JPERM" supports my channel and also gives you a discount on your order.

Tips on how to get faster

1: Practice
2: Look ahead
3: Keep running algorithms that you struggle on like for me G perms
4: Watch expert cubers and what they do
5: Go to more competitions
6: Keep on cubing
7: Have fun

Thanks to this tutorial I am now sub 20 minutes

I just recently became sub 20 :-
- I use advanced cross
-I use intuitive f2l with a few algorithms for tricky cases
-Practice Look ahead and reduce cube rotations and learn better solutions for f2l cases
- I use 2 look OLL
-I use full PLL
hopefully these tips helped you

It kinda looks like he does every video on his floor. I just imagine him laying down and recording.

I’m NOT gonna say just practice

Step 1: Get muscle memory, which requires LOTS of practice

No hate, it’s just a joke

Great tips!! It's so tempting to spend all your structured practice time studying OLL and PLL as it feels so much more tangible to check another algorithm off the list, I have full PLL and half of OLL but I think I'm going to stop on OLL and focus much more on F2L. I have been doing lots of cross practice where I do the cross with my eyes closed off inspection to try and get so I can focus on look ahead instead of just watching what I'm doing. I also started doing f2l with a rule that I can never do a cube rotation to try and get some muscle memory going on the back slots. Getting consistent look ahead going with f2l is where I really struggle. It takes so much focus for me to take my eyes off what I'm doing. I've gotten to a pretty consistent sub-30 with a pb of 19.

NOTES&TIMESTAMPS for me
0:00 0. 2-look OLL + most of PLLs

0:10 1. MUSCLE MEMORY FOR EVERYTHING
0:13 2 example 2 F2L cases
0:42 execute fast by muscle memory like LL
0:52 just think of it, execute very quickly with muscle memory
1:03 example u perm: don't think about fingers for memorize,
1:19 with good finger tricks

1:25 LOOK AHEAD: don't look at your current pair
1:29 link in description
1:31 while solving a pair: looking other pieces, not the current pair
1:43 if not -> wouldn't see the edge ahead, but if look ahead -> easiest, and look ahead again
2:00 speedcubers example solves always look ahead

2:06 INSERT FROM BACK
2:10 bad if not
2:18 e.g
2:35 e.g
2:46 only work with good algorithm (without F/F')

2:50 PAIR WHEN TAKE PIECES OUT (take pieces out of slots the smart way)
3:03 if 1 edge not in top layer: no extra moves
3:06 e.g.
3:35 exempli gratia
3:54 experiment
4:00 if cases non-intuitive -> hard
4:05 example, sledgehammer: R' F R F'
4:14 e.g.
4:22 when corner not in top layer: pair in 3 moves
4:40 experiment

4:41 U/U' INSTEAD CUBE ROTATIONS (F2L&LL)
4:55 e.g. OLL
5:09 e.g. PLL: don't line the blocks (because cube rotations), instead: U/U' and AUF (ajust U face)
5:31 e.g. F2L
- U/U' to find piece

6:00 CONCLUSION
6:02 60 moves/20 secs=3 tps. But faster in LL -> 2 tps -> can slow in F2L
6:13 lot of practice !!
6:19 if bad recognition but 6 tps -> avg20

0:10 Have muscle memory for everything 1:25 Dont look at your current pair 2:04 Learn to insert into the back slot 2:48 Take peices out the smart way 4:39 u turns are better than cube rotations

J Perm this helped me soo much. I originally averaged 24 seconds, but at the last part where if I went a little slower with no pauses made me drop to 22 just in a couple solves after.

Kept using these strategies and I'm nearing Sub 15, my last many averages this weekend were 15-16 seconds.

I'm already sub 20 but this still helped me. Thanks!

Thanks JPERM. I will now commence my own personal pilgrimage towards sub-20. Its great to see that it’s now about refining the steps I already know (well, and some more PLL cases), instead of learning entirely new concepts (F2L anyone).

i have an extra tip. learn full oll and pll. it could literally save your life when your doing a solve. (also do the algs muscle memory)

The look at your current pair has helped me alot! It has made my f2l smoother I actually got 2 sub 20 averages today! Thanks

I've been cubing for years now and for the last year or so I've very much plateau and don't seem to be able to improve. But now that I've just found your channel, I think it may change!

Thanks a lot this video was really helpful. Can you make a video on better and efficient f2l algirithms anytime in the future?
