I know people keep saying this is time travel, but I actually have another theory.

This whole scene is a flashback being narrated by Eren. He's repeating exactly what Eren Kruger is saying from his father's memories so that Armin can cross check it with the journals to confirm they are accurate. I think the idea is that between the three of them, Eren, Grisha and Kruger, Eren himself is just getting the memories mixed up on who said what. Kruger says the words that Grisha says to Eren, who is likewise now, saying the same words again back Armin, and it's entirely possible that the previous Attack Titan said the *same* things to Kruger as well.

The reason is that Eren has essentially been all THREE of these people in more ways than one. Eren just can't remember anymore who is said what or where it really begins
