Ukraine says it does not want to permanently occupy Russia's Kursk region. After launching a major offensive into the territory last week, Ukraine says its intention is to thwart Russian attacks on its territory, and to pull Russian military resources away from the Ukrainian frontline.

Russia's defense ministry has released footage of what it says are operations against Ukrainian forces operating inside the Kursk region close to the Ukrainian border. Analysts say Ukrainian troops have advanced up to 25 kilometers into Russian territory.

Russians displaced by the fighting are arriving in the capital Moscow. More than 130,000 people have already been forced from their homes, with another 60,000 in the process of leaving on Tuesday.

Russia's foreign intelligence service has accused Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelenskiy of taking "insane steps" that threaten an escalation of their conflict far beyond the region. Zelenskyy says his troops are now taking the war to Russia where they say they control a thousand square kilometers of territory in the Kursk region.

Ukraine took a page out of Putin's play book. Sudzha used to be the capital of Ukraine over 100 years ago. They just took what's "rightfully theirs". Slava Ukraine.

At least they won't have to worry about their washing machines being stolen when they eventually return home.

Putin has got to have some kind of dirt on Trump, I can’t imagine any other reason for an American leader to be so slavishly pro-Putin

Slava, Ukraine! That is probably one of the few times in my life. I’ve agreed with Lindsey Graham. So proud of my Ukrainian sisters and brothers! I pray your aim be true? God bless all of you! Slava heroes of Ukraine! Much love from Austin, Texas

Suspect the people living in Kursk are disappointed that Ukraine will not be staying...maybe there should be a referendum?

Ukraine should ANNEX the territory they invaded to UKRAINE so that US and RUSSIA it self will not say that WESTERN weapons are being used inside Russia... Yes, u are right, as simple as that. Putin cannot complain because that same action was executed by Putin in Ukraine territories... A dose of his own medicine may not hurt him that bad...
