If Pokrovsk will fall in the next few months and entire southern-west of Donetsk region will be undefendable, then Ukrainians will have to ask themselves was it really worth it to invade Kursk region.

ignore kursk - kursk is a risky move to regain trust in the AFU (western weapon supplies and new recruits); However, this could backfire as Germany as a reaction cut their supply not wanting their weapons on Russian territory. Furthermore, Russia has the size and the army of the union state Belarus if Kursk situation worsens. Imagine the propaganda: once again defend your homeland against nazis in kursk just like in WW2.
The real war is fought in Donbas. It looks like Ukraine is about to give this up eventually and in place have Kursk and more areas around it as a bargain to negotiate...However, once Russia's army is fully mobilized (which has never happened yet), recapturing Kursk will be a piece of cake. It all depends on Donbas.

The speed of the russian advance is strange. I guess the AFU is already retreating to Prokrovsk and gave up the region east of it. This would also explain the "Kursk Offensive". Every time the AFU is loosing a battle they start a red herring for the western media. So they can set their fokus to anywhere else.

I am really worried and sad about everything that is happening to the Ukrainians. As someone who survived the senseless politics that led to the wars in the Balkans, I know well what it’s like to have political leadership made up of idiots and ignoramuses. I also know well what it’s like when part of the ordinary people believe all that nonsense, when they trust the idiots in power more than their own eyes and ears… And most tragically, when the vast majority of ordinary people, who have seen through it all, pay with their lives…
