Harry Potter and Percy Jackson still stands its ground as 'peak fiction': no difficulties.

The caraval triligy was really good imo, plus there's another book that takes place in the same universe, that was released recently! Might be nice to check out :)

Throne of Glass is definitely a gateway for those who want to read more epic fantasy books. I’m glad people still remember this series (since all I hear are people constantly talking about ACOTAR)

Tolkiens legendarium is the most epic fantasy trilogy of all…though once you get past the Lord of the Rings his works aren’t for the faint of heart! (I wouldn’t say you need to be a certain age to read them though)

COMING FROM SOMEONE WHO LOVES THE GRISHAVERSE- six of crows is way better then the shadow and bone trilogy in my option. you don’t really need to read shadow and bone to read six of crows, but it does help with some context but nothing that you can’t look up

I'd say start off with caraval because its quick, easy and fun. Then maybe shadow and bone to get u into the fantasy world and since many fantasy books have politics, this one could help u get used to it if its something u avoid. If u want to get into fae either read the cruel prince or acotar. Dystopian fantasy we've got an ember in the ashes and red queen (start off w/ red queen imo and then go to aeita). Dark fantasy is kingdom of the wicked. Some cozy standalones for when ur experiencing a reading slump are an enchantment of ravens and a deal with the elf king. Another standalone is the shadows between us. Percy jackson and harry potter r also probably really great as they're classics but i havent read them yet (will def read them during winter vac).

If people are looking for fantasy recommendations other than these series, I’d recommend the Bartimeous Trilogy (witty commentary by the main character, great plot, amazing characters), the Great Tree of Avalon Trilogy (not on goodreads! Starting book is “Child of the Dark Prophecy”, full blown fantasy with great world building and found family vibes), the Edge Chronicles (smaller books but there are a lot of them, suitable for some younger audiences but there are a lot of dark themes and t*rt*re).
These are a few of my favorites💛

For YA fantasy, yeah. But for classic fantasy, I’d say LOTR and hobbit obviously, and then a few wheel of time books. Loved those.
