After growing and trying so many different fruits over the years, I can confidently say that the persimmon is the tastiest, but also one of the most reliable fruiting plants you can grow in a temperate or sub tropical climate. Here's why I think you should grow a persimmon tree and which tree to choose.

I live in Korea . in southern part of Korea, in fall season over hundred years of old persimmon trees
with tons of red persimmons that looks like catching fire. in time it's even more beautiful then autumn leaves.
Two weeks ago I found an old persimmon tree . Fruit size is small that it's not commercial type.
But it's so delicious. I am going to graft it coming spring.

I’m 60 and was born in Rome, Italy and now live in Tasmania, Australia. One of my fondest memories as a 6 year child I LOVED kaki (persimmons). I finally have one planted in my garden ❤

I have 2 American Persimmon trees I planted 35 years ago there around 70 ft tall today. Made persimmon jam from the fruit 2 months ago. I like to just pick them from the ground and eat. I also have 50-60 seeds getting ready to plant in the spring, going to plant them all around my 15 acres.

Persimmons are so delicious. I think people get put off by the fact that they look like wonky tomatoes. That's how I felt until I finally tried one. Super excited to learn that I could grow this in Montreal (zone 5a)

Good timing on the video. I just started stratification on some persimmon seeds I’ve collected over the season in hopes of grafting my prok onto them.

I was able to find them dried at a Sprouts store in Arizona. No preservatives. Great snack! My next tree!

My uncle has a persimmon tree here in California and it gives hundreds of fruits a year.
When you eat them off the tree they are amazing. Nothing like the one's you get on the market.

I planted fuyu trees every year for 15 years. Now I have 30. I sold all the fruit took the money and ordered 200 more trees. We joke that only Asians and Indians know what they are and make terrible customers because they are always trying to haggle. I hope to have 400 trees one day for my children. They are wonderful trees and the fruit is spectacular

Unfortunately, store bought fruit is all about transportability and convenience. It takes a bit of knowledge and patience to eat persimmons at peak ripeness and most people don't have the attention span. As you mention, these are easy to grow and I'm glad you're helping us learn.

Hey. Really nice video! Similarly I love persimmons and figs. I wanted to grow some persimmon trees but they are quite hard to get by as not many nurseries offer them.
