What is True Belief?

A viewer writes and asks a questions about the criminal on the stake with Yeshua. Is belief enough for salvation? Does simply uttering the words of a simple prayer give me eternal life and then the ability to live my life here and now anyway I see fit?

Awesome, well done brother Zachary it's amazing on how the word of God can break through the cloud of faith without works is dead. Amen

Awesome video Zach! One thing that stood out to me was Abideth...the key to walking as Yeshua walked is to abide in Him. This is what today we would call being "in the zone". When we are really abiding in Him, it is easy to walk as He walked...obeying God and honoring one another, keeping the commandments and we could even lay down our own life. However, when we get distracted by the things of this world, and we get into our flesh, that is when we are not abiding in Him and that is when we mess up. We have to keep our eyes on Yeshua to have true saving faith and as for grace, we know that His grace is what keeps us there because He never let's us wander so far that He can't bring us back.

A lot of good points in this video. Thanks Zachary! I'm reading my bible, no problem there! My coworkers and extended family think I'm petty strange for following "those old testament Jewish laws". Well the Torah has changed my life...for the better. No bondage, if anything I feel more free, ain't that something? Goodness I love the word of God :)

Rick, you are so right. Belief in North America is weak. Agreed. But it must turn to action and it must turn to Integration

JESUS KNEW HIS WAS A HEART THING AND IT STILL IS....HE HAD A HEART CHANGE AND SHOWED IT. YAHSHUA NEVER SINNED AND FULFILLED THE LAW AS I CANNOT COULD NOT. THAT'S WHY I TRUST HIM FOR MY SALVATION AND NO ONE OR NOTHING ELSE...AMEN AND MARANATHA

Well said Zach, I try and convey this very point, "trying not to sin", not that we must but out of respect to our Father in Heaven. Yes I to try my best to keep his commandments and mostly without a problem, I stumble from time to time becoming a bit short with people, over the very thing I'm trying to prove :( But people always seem without fail try and tell me, you're trying to keep the law therefor I'm not saved. It gets me so frustrated sometimes that people either refuse to see the truth or their just play acting the roll as christian. It's very eye opening to watch them use every excuse in the book to keeping from following the law. (I'll say to myself, what are they axe murderers?) I give them plain words from the JKVB where they can see for themselves what God has to say about it. But rather then listen to God it will be as if nothing was said. But they will jump to another unrelated question in a 2nd and 3rd even a 4th attempt to try and prove the law is not for born again Christians. Sad really-, There actions prevent them from moving up to more truth ready to been found...

hi Zach great teaching! our actions of obedience is the fruit of our walk, you mentioned john 3:16 but i have one more John3:36 (in the original Greek) He that believeth on the son hath everlasting life but he THAT DISOBEYETH the son shall not see life but the wrath of God remains on him.this lines up with Hebrews 5:9 And being made perfect he became the author of eternal salvation unto all that OBEY him which also lines up with Hebrews 3:19 that they could not enter into his rest because of unbelief if you look up the word unbelief in this scripture in the concordance it is DISOBIEDENCE.

as far as the criminal, I think that he realized who Yahushua was, repented, believed, and if he had lived he would have shown his faith by his actions

“Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it.
“Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it.
“Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves.
“You will know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes from thornbushes or figs from thistles?
“Even so, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit.
“A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit.
“Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire.
“Therefore BY THEIR FRUITS YOU WILL KNOW THEM." - Matthew 7:13-20 NKJV
Amen!

Spot on Zach! I think there are a couple of key understandings missing though that could benefit to this teaching. The first being this- If you read that particular scripture that is being questioned "Verily I say unto you today, you will be with me in paradise." We know that punctuation never existed in the ancient texts so this particular verse can be read like "You will be with me in paradise but not specifically today." We know that there will be those who call upon the name of the Lord and salvation is granted to them but also there is the understanding of the bride who enters the grooms chambers and the wedding guests. Is it safe to say that those who just simply receive salvation may be the servants/guests that Yeshua mentions?

I agree with you that actions give evidence of faith. It's illogical to insist that you believe something when you act on a different set of beliefs. That said, I think a focus on externals will mislead us about how God views our deeds. One person goes to see a PG-13 movie, and another person lusts in his heart after every woman he sees, but does everything right on the outside. This is why God tells us not to judge; not because we are not to have judgment, but because our vision is so limited.

Hi Zach, look at the difference in the verse where Yahushua saying, today you will be with me in paradise. beteen thw Kings James and The Scriptures bible. look at the placement of the comma. Gives a different meaning.
Yahushua did not go to paradise that day.

Hey Zach, also consider John 3:36 "“He who believes in the Son has eternal life; but he who does NOT OBEY the Son will not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him."” NASB‭‭The King James and others translate this to say "not believe", but in the Greek, that word is "apeithon" and it's clearly defined as disobedience. So those who believe (John 3:16), should be obedient (John 3:36).

The word in greek is "pistis, " which means faith, trust, and belief! It's is all one concept!

When I say that I believe in somebody, I normally mean not only that I believe in their existence, in their role or function, but I express that I believe also what somebody says . So, when we are told to believe in Him, maybe then it is not only to believe that He was who he said he was, but actually open up our ears and listen to his speach and believe his message. Could this be implied in f inst John 3:16? So far I have not heard any teaching on this subject. What is it to believe in Jehoshua? More than just believe in his existense and his role, but actually take his many teachings and interpretation of the law seriously?

If you want to get away with not being obedient then you don't truly believe, because you haven't really repented which you need to do in order to believe.

Of course he didn't break the law of course he didn't sin because he's the son of God Jesus is God in the Human From.

Faith is a verb as much as a belief. It is not merely believing. Are you faithful to the Creator or are you running around playing the harlot?
