Interesting fact about the prion is that much like real life prions incubation period, there is a delay in the lethal symptoms you pick up (I.E coma, systemic infection, total organ failure etc) due to how the junk prions create in the neurones in the brain.

Out of all the pathogens in this game, I am probably most scared on the prions. They are extremely hard tu cure, that's true. But unlike the more sci-fi plagues, prions are quite real and could cause actual great harms.

In deer we have CWD
And the most famous from cows is mad cow disease.
There are others but for the most part the only way to get a piron in you is to eat it.
For the most part this means meat, but it can spread off the ground like with cwd.

I think you should not only rate the abilities of pathogens, but also their symptoms and transmissions. Like, since when do prions cause internal hemоrrhaging, cysts or pneumonia??

I have no idea how this is recommended to me but I am not microbiologist, I do not know the exact details, the exact workings and eldritch levels of understanding.

Bacteria, Fungus and parasites I can understand causing shit in your system, but Prions are those that I just find fascinating, like, "How does it misfold? How is it such a problem causer?"
Because when I hear protein, I think of it like its a resource for your body.

Now I do have an idea how some things work on genetical level, how some things are considered genetically trashed, having too many or too little chromosomes is bad, but Genetics is always fascinating how it will work to remove "screw ups", however Prions, that is somehow resilient, yet I ask, how in nature does such a thing occur?

For one, I read that the best example is obtained from humans eating meat of an infected cow or mad cow disease. It just fascinates me, yet also terrifies me, however I do know that mysteries yet understanding of genetics that Prions are so omnipotent or so outside of the "rules" of genetics.
