This has got to be the most comprehensive EV comparison I’ve ever seen. Thank you! For me, the iX3 ticks all the boxes. It’s a capable commuter and a practical family car, while still looking “normal”. It was supposed to be released in South Africa in February but it has not arrived as yet. Let’s see what happens in the next few months.

A very impressive compilation! Thank you, Thomas. I think the iX3 takes the gold medal overall - your obvious enjoyment of the test drive also shone through compared to the other very good cars.

I thought one commentary overall that is lacking in your and other reviews - the elephant in the room if you like - is the relative availability of the different cars, My experience here in Austria is that this can range from (say) a few months to quoted ordering times approaching 2 years! Although this is admittedly not a function of the cars performance and styling etc being compared, in the real world it can be be a significant factor in decision making. So in my view the typical availability of the cars at the time of the test warrants at least a few seconds of comment.

From these, I'd pick the Mach E, EV6 as second choice... but keeping my I-Pace ATM : great handling and driving dynamics, very cosy and roomy interior, big boot, and winter range is very good (only 30 km less than in summer). And of course the style remains best in class in my eyes.

I think value etc. comes down to market a lot of the time. In the UK I found the EV 6 impossible to ignore. I would have gone Mach E but to get the extended range I was looking at over £50k when the EV 6 GT line is £43.5k. £7k more for just aesthetics and a bit more range in the summer wasn't worth it. Having said that lease deals on the EV6 are very expensive or were anyway where as the Q4 was one of the best as the degradation in value is perceived to be less. So method of ownership will come into play too
