In Instant Pot, there are 4 different sizes 3qt, 6qt, 8qt and 10 qt. I would suggest 10qt for your family as you can make lot of food in it very very quickly. I have three 8 qts for my family of 6 and I have all the three in parallel (example - vegetable + rice in low pressure cooking mode, lentil soup in high pressure mode and a spinach-veggie soup in saute mode) for a big cooking day. There is also instant pot with air fryer combo which you can try once you get used to the normal instant pot
