I can see this being a big part of why The Holy Spirit has been leading me to practice "instantly" obeying whatever it is when I hear Him.

I never had a big problem with the idea of a drill sergeant screaming orders and expecting people to obey the orders right away because I imagined that it was so when people are in the field on assignment if the ranking officer screamed "get down" everyone would be used to "instantly" obeying and drop to the ground and avoid getting killed by enemy fire and things like that.
That for most of them it wasn't really to be mean or just boss you around. It was actually to "save" you!
At least that's the way I imagined it.

I also took the no leavening of the bread as a model of not having the sin of pride.
Warning to not be prone to being "puffed up" and proud because yeast and leavening causes the bread to "puff up".
Understanding that not using leavening was also to make it so they could "instantly" go when The Lord said to "Go!" is wonderful to understand.
