I have a White Oak Style 82 that I purchased in 1983 when I was a Tool and Die Maker Apprentice. I don't know where the receipt is any more, but I paid $350 for it. That was more than a weeks pay back then, even with overtime. It has traveled with me from shop to shop and is still in first class condition.

I have an 82 just like yours, and cherish it. Can't imagine someone damaging mine. It would make me go full Viking. I think this box is pretty uncommon, it's very hard to find pictures of it on the web.

I was riveted throughout this series. Pun optional. It was great to watch your skilled assesment and repair of this rare 14-Drawer Style 82 chest. This was the first generation of the Style 82 which coincidentally (?) ran from 1982 to '84 or so. Then the small drawers in the top middle were reduced by one row, increasing the height of those remaining.

I would like to know if the headliner of this chest has a set of sewn green felt pockets? The only other one of these I've seen, beside my own does. I haven't seen any others with this. I think it may be unique to this limited 1st generation Style 82.

Thank you! By the way, that B62 base is an amazing thing to have! I'm on the lookout for an oak B62 to complete my set. :)
