VW Golf R v BMW M235i - Chris Harris on Cars

Despite how much we love supercar comparisons, this Golf R v M235i test is one which has more value on everyday car enthusiasts. They are matched right up against each other in terms of performance and price. Here's a proper review with Chris Harris

I'm the only one that feel like asking $3.99 a month for few minutes eps is asking WAY too much. For fuck sake netflix and hulu plus is like $8 or little more and they have so much content. Drive plus should be like $1 month

Wish Chris Harris went to Motor Trend. He's great. Too bad he works for sellouts.

I really hope you change the way you do business here because you have about 99% of people disliking what you're doing with the channel.

Didn't these videos used to be longer and more in depth?

Disliking because title is misleading and so is the description. VS usually means there is a comparison. There isn't, is there? And the description says this is a review. All I heard was brief opinions on the older versions of the Golf and 1 series.

This is proof that people don't understand how money works. Drive could not sustain their YouTube channel entirely on ad-revenue (Previously they had sponsorship, but that has finished). Drive+ was created so that they could continue functioning, without it there would be no more drive.

Brilliant, I've tried signing up for /Drive+ just because I used to love the long in-depth videos! should I mention only the Chris Harris ones. Now I'm 17 years old, so that mean, I cannot use my debit card to sign up, nor can I make a PayPal account because it won't accept my debit card, again because I'm not 18. So not only are they pushing out their audience by making us have to pay to see videos that we could see for free a few months back, but for the people like myself that as willing to pay, I can't because I'm too young. Well done /Drive. Well done.

Mighty car mods is free and will remain free as stated by Marty and Moog. They even got propositioned for a "real' show but would have to throw in little sponsorship tidbits here and there for some bigger companies. They told them to shove it. Please explain to me how two guys doing all of the work themselves, modifications, filming, editing, producing, traveling to different countries to film full length features even, can go on giving us free, quality content but Drive suddenly can't anymore. Ethics you say? I call bullshit. More like greediness and a big head. I used to love coming home for lunch, sitting down with my meal and watching a couple full length reviews but i guess those days are gone. "Here's a proper review with Chris Harris"... Get real.

Title includes word "versus", yet there's zero comparison - other than explaining differences - in this video.

I'll see you back on EVO Chris when Drive eventually goes under. Drive, you screwed the people who made you popular in the first place.

In contrast here's a message from the Might Car Mods channel.

"We are happy to let you know that MCM episodes will remain free, just as they have been for the last seven years. We created MCM because we love cars and we love filming and we want all of you to be able to share in that no matter where you are, how old you are or what your financial situation is. And we're proud to be able to do this completely independently from a network, broadcaster, publisher or media group. With the support of some select sponsors, and you guys out there, we've managed to retain 100% creative control over everything we do, and we're incredibly proud of that."

God damn, people... Stop complaining about DRIVE+. You get either DRIVE+ or there would be no more /DRIVE Network at all. They had to go pay per view to be able to afford to stay in operation. They don't want this any more than we do.

Starting the truncated version of the film with Chris Harris saying "Meantime..." is such a tease- and a bit of a slap in the face.

I rarely ever comment on videos. I understand why drive did what they did, they need to make money. But they are going to lose so many viewers and fans. I used to be so excited and always looked forward to Chris's videos, to a point where I would check daily for new uploads. But that excitement has been killed completely. I Will probably never watch any new videos uploaded by drive. It seems Chris carried the YouTube channel and it was the only reason I subscribed to Drive. This video was pretty disappointing, it's a 3 minute video that has a misleading title, and all I got out of was is general information that I could have gotten within 30 seconds by reading an article.

Chris is the only reason I subscribed. Now I have reason to clean my subscriptions! Thanks.

JF!!!  I'd love to watch /Drive+ but I keep getting an error that accounts connected to google+ cannot make purchases on youtube.

It's unbelievable how people turned against the channel they love just because it's asking for a ridiculous amount of money per year to watch full, top-quality movies. Specially considering that there's no other way for /DRIVE to stay "alive".

The Smoking Tire is still free and Matt Farah and his Producers still push out High quality Videos... Drive is trying to expand too suddenly way too quick... we liked the old quality videos you did on the budget.... what the fans truly want, are very lively presenters with video of the cars that are viewable. we dont need the videos to be BMW commercial quality or Top Gear production quality. i believe if Drive kept up and built a larger following, waited a few more seasons, then they could have met with TV Execs and decide to produce shows with a bigger legit budget.
