My thoughts are go for it! It would be awesome to sail on it. Have it make the original route then have it visit different ports around the US for the rest of its life, maybe Caribbean area for awhile, then some of the Alaska routes etc. And make the tickets where you rotate to all 3 classes. That way you can get a full experience. Make one of the dinner nights where you dress in period and class correct attire. That would be really fun. You could also offer one night stays while it’s in port for people that just want to see the ship but not necessarily want to go to sea?

It's just been announced that is is now being built as Clive palmer has now got funding

All air, no substance. Construction is supposed to start in 2025, but no shipyard has been selected. Blue Star line has posted no actual construction updates since 2019. Clive Palmer has a long-standing reputation for promoting massive projects that never materialize.

I dont know why it's taking so long to build this ship, modern ocean liners of today are at least 5 times bigger than Titanic.

If you compared Titanic's design to modren occean liners of today for example Icon Of The Seas - (the largest ship of 2024) - Titanic is tiny in comparison.

I doubt this will ever happen (I do not believe Clive Palmer). if it does, the Titanic 2 may resemble the original but not close to a replica. It will likely be much larger to accommodate modern amenities needed to make money. My predictions:
1. Extended superstructure closer to bow, no need for freight cranes. 2. Added first class deck for more staterooms. Balconies constructed into the open promenade. Second and third class would be modern inside and porthole staterooms, everyone can eat and go where they want. 3. shorten the stacks, only one is needed for diesel engines. 4. The poop deck area would be converted into a wind protected pool, lounge, observation area, with an additional pool inside. Let's see what happens if ever.

The name with the word ‘Titan’ is probably cursed at this point, evident by the Titan submersible incident. If they want a Titanic 2 they just name it something else with the ‘ic’ in the end and called it the fourth the Olympic class liner. But I do think the Titanic and the deceased aboard her should sleep in peace and not to bring her back. History may repeat itself.

I wont hold my breath. What’s the point? Does all this includes the iceberg? How much would it cost to book? Who would book passage? How long would it take for the novelty to wear off? Who would book passage on a ship replicated from a 100 year old ocean liner to spend days trapped on board with amenities similar to early 20th century? Thats like staying at a late 19th century hotel with the bathroom down the hall as if you were staying at a YMCA. Now let’s put that hotel out at sea. It doesn’t make sense. I’m not buying it. If this ship ever makes it off the drawing board it’ll have the same fate as the SS United States at worse, the RMS Queen Mary at best, both eventually docked for eternity as useless relics of the past.

Beware: there is a reason there was only one ship that was ever named Titanic in world maritime history. A second time is not a charm. Let’s leave that ship alone to let it rest in peace, please. Sleeping dogs should be left alone to lie still . . .
