William Paley, the founder of CBS, was 18 years old living in New York and was the first person to hear the S.O.S. from the Titanic on his short wave radio. He alerted the Navy and was considered a hero.

My great grandfather died on the carpathia from hypothermia and was buried at sea .

Of the 328 bodies recovered, 119 were buried at sea and 209 were taken to Halifax. Of the 209 bodies, 59 were shipped back to their families and 150 were buried in Halifax Canada. This is the largest number of Titanic victims buried anywhere in the world.

I saw a hand written account of the sinking of the Titanic and their survival in the Museum of Letters &Manuscripts in Paris at a Titanic display, it was spine chilling and affected me greatly 😢

People have said why drop off the lifeboats first ? Because they were in the way tied to deck & side rails of the Carpathia, she wouldn't have been able to lower her gang plank & get the people off the ship safely . The survivors & lifeboats were obviously unaccounted for .
