ETH 2.0: What does Ethereum 2.0 mean? How will it impact the Ethereum network?

More than 1500 of you voted for me to cover this topic: Ethereum 2.0 also known as ETH 2.0. So here we go. ETH 2.0 seems to be a controversial topic, but as always, I focus on the technology and its impact on our lives. Great! Why Ethereum does not have a limited amount of supply, like Bitcoin that have only 21 millions?
What are the criteria for creating new Ether tokens? How receive that new issuance of tokens (miners?) ? Where can I see a chart of Ether inflation along time?

Spadina will run in parallel with Medalla, it's a separate testnet with focus on performing the validator launch again as there was low participation in the first launch and some of the clients has been improved since
