yeah - one other thing to know is that everything thing takes AGES. Additionally buyer has to pay/cover the cost of return shipment when Seller sends wrong watch because nobody in Chrono cares. Happened to me - I paid for watch and for shipment - sent money to escrow. Seller had a Breitling watch, then they didn't, then they had slightly different model which I was happy to take. Then they 'sold' it in their retail shop when going through details with me - and then they sent wrong one (different model, different size, etc) and without full papers. My only option was to pay for the return shipment for watch I didn't order and then wait like 3 weeks for money to be returned. Bottom line - be careful - Chrono is probably best platform for used/second hand watches - but it is by no means good. I ended up buying retail, a new watch - spent more money but boy - such a different experience.

Chrono24 should take a more active role in private-to-private sale transactions, instead of taking a stance of a “moderator” in case of disputes. The buyer protection currently only covers purchases from trusted dealers which gives them an unfair advantage as buyers will be inclined to buy from them as a result (even if there’s a more competitive price offered by a private seller).

At the time you have released the episode I bought my 1st luxury (?) watch, Tudor Heritage BB, 79220R via chrono24. At first I was considering many other sellers, but I chose you Guys mostly because of the trusted checkout option. Watch appraisal is a great add-on as well. Chrono24 is the best way to buy and sell watches in the world. I sold a watch to a person in Italy and bought a watch from a dealer in the UK. I paid 1/2 retail price, with Chrono24 I just don't pay retail prices.

I have several problems with chrono24. 1. No feedback for private sellers only for authorized dealers. So you cannot leave feedback or read feedback in advance. So weird. 2 The app is very slow and unresponsive all the time. 3. The price suggestion thing is very cumbersome and weird at the beginning. 4. Technical help or answers are quite slow many times. Overall good it exists but needs a lot work.

Chrono 24 is a very glossy front end. I’m in Canada and have purchased 2 watches from them, one domestic which was easy and one from a foreign vendor which was a very unsatisfactory experience. Chrono 24 doesn’t seem to realize that there many complexities when buying and shipping valuable pieces across international borders. There is nothing on their shiny website to provide assistance or advice to purchasers who are buying a piece from a foreign vendor. Many of the problems arise from the lack of communication from either the vendor or especially the shipper. Most of the issues arise when the piece arrives at its destination terminal and then must clear customs. At that point all communication ceases and in many cases it will be days or a week before you hear anything more regarding delivery of your watch. Chrono 24 needs to more transparent about these issues so people are not disappointed by the poor service.

Out of focus poor quality pictures can be deceiving about the quality of the watch. Crono 24 should set standards about picture quality and that watch is also photographed from the sides not only from the front.

Terrible experience with this company, sold a watch privately and 3 weeks later I’m still waiting on a payout, won’t answer emails now they told me to not to call anymore!

I wanted to buy a watch in Europe but they force me to send US Dollars to a bank account in London, rather than Euros which would not incur bank charges. I'm based in Asia. I find it outright stupid that they don't offer a payment option in Euros, especially if the seller is in a Euro country and the buyer is able to pay in Euros. Take care and read the terms and conditions, to avoid hefty bank or credit card charges.

If the seller is forced to upload real pictures as proof of ownership, how come there are listings with stock images?

Great video! I am planning to buy a New Seiko SPB143 watch on chrono24 through a seller in Japan. The price is excellent compared to prices in Europe or the United States. (Japan USD $779 vs EU/USA USD $1250). Should that scare me or raise suspicions about the authenticity of the piece? The seller has the Authenticity Guarantee by Chrono24 Buyer Protection. Thank you.
