This wasn't really about men and women, it was really about how an individual should live their lives! It's good advice, if one doesn't get hyper-focused only on themselves! Simply put, we need to learn to be the best person we can first (comfortable with and by ourselves), ... and then be open to sharing ourselves with others! Being alone is nothing to be afraid of, in my view! I think we don't need to find another person right away when, for example, our spouse passes away. Take some time (1-2 years plus) to adjust to the new situation (makes sense). I'll bet some wish they had known these things earlier....

I just recently messed up, royally. Knowingly I ignored red flags that were not only red flags but direct advice from the person I was after.
I don't think I need to even watch this - it's so clear now that I am not that attached anymore.
I almost made a fool out of myself, sometimes I actually did.
At least I consider the person worth all my effort.
And I was never abused or taken advantage of.
It could have been much worse.
It was worth the risk at least.
I just don't want to repeat those mistakes. If I manage to avoid only half of them the next time, it was more then worth it.
