2021 Honda CBR 1000 RR-R SP | First Ride

The supersport class has a whole new beast to deal with. Honda dropped the CBR 600rr and took all the R's from it and added it to this CBR 1000RR-R SP. This bike is insane and doesn't belong on the road but they, let's try it anyway!

The U.S. spec is restricted to 60% throttle even when pinned. That is to meet U.S. noise restrictions. It has a piece of foam in the nose to reduce intake noise also. The different handling is because of the long wheel base and rake. To offset the slower handling Honda raised the motor a little higher in the frame for more leverage. Good trade off for more stability.

From all of the other reviews I've seen about this bike, it is VERY track focused. All of he power is in the high RPMs. I've also heard that an ECU reflash does absolute wonders for this bike just because of the emissions restrictions from the factory.

This bike, with its harshness, reminds me of the 1199. Next weekend I get the chance to review one as well, love the quality of your videos man, I appreciate production like this. I know how much goes into it. I have my RSV4 1100 Factory as my track bike, I love track days especially after doing the yamaha champ school, they really allow me to use my bike for its intended purpose and I don't do the crazy stuff on the streets. Highly recommend people getting to a track at least twice a year.

This is by FAR, the sexiest motorcycle around right now, even ahead of the Panigale. Honda remembered how to make drop dead gorgeous bikes and I never thought I'd say a new Honda is prettier than the latest Ducati. Super stoked and the want is VERY strong.

The two different exhaust pipes you are referring to is the exhaust servo. Manufacturers have to do this in order to conform to EPA noise standards.
Smaller pipe=city riding
Bigger pipe=highway riding

OC - i'd only get a track dedicated bike if I'm on the track at least every month.. otherwise i'm fine just using my regular bike. But track days are so much fun, you get to not only experience but try skills that you normally can't practice on the street. Looking forward to more 'track' videos!

With the throttle response, the engine is built to run at higher RPMs so the power band is up there. A weird thing but I’m sure it helps on the track itself
