Wiim Amp is a newest project and for what it offers it is truly a bargain

In this video I'll tell you my findings about the WiiM Amp and also I recorded for you multiple samples on how the Amp really sound using Eversolo DMP A6 ME with Everoslo F2 Cambridge Audio EVO 150 as a reference units so that you can hear how good or bad the WiiM amp really is.

So apparently the WiiM Amp is

My strategy is very clear, I will spend most of the money on the speakers, then I think, but not too much, about the other components that I see do not matter much for the performance that has been reached. But I see that the biggest bug is the speakers where the sound differs a lot from one speaker to another, in fact the distortions in the audio chain are, amplifiers sound 1%, dac-s the same, cables and other plugs depends on how it looks, but with loudspeakers the distortions are 5-10 times higher...Thank you for the test!

I would like to thank and congratulate all the reviewers who do a sound demo. It takes a lot more effort than just talking. You may not get a real feel for the test and hear the differences between devices like you would in real life, but with good headphones you can still get a decent impression of how a particular component plays. So a big thumbs up for the sound test. 👍

Another fine sound comparison -- many thanks. Like you, I thought the Eversolo best for my ears -- richer and more dynamic. But to be fair, the Wiim did a good job, not too far off -- perhaps slightly more strident, but for $400 one can't complain.

Your strategy sounds good to me and accords with my own -- at least it does now, after having made a few mistakes in the past!🙂If I were starting over again, I'd definitely focus on the speakers first and get the best I could afford, or in my case build myself -- I currently use open baffles that would have cost me at retail at least three times the price.

Even my secondary nearfield system blows away anything remotely price comparable (taking into account inflation) from 20-30 years ago based on my listening around that time at hi-fi shows. It's a great time to get into hi-fi.

400$? In Russia 300$) I compared Wiim Amp and Luxman L-505uxII. The difference between them was very small. Wiim Amp is very good amplifier.

Great music selection for such a shootout!
The Wiim while still decent is a bit leaner sounding. The eversolo has little more better transient response and a little better separation between instruments.
The Cambridge sounds warmer, has more meat on the bone and more refined up top.
I totally agree with your evaluation. Great video!

Wiim sounds very, very good at this price point. I thought I heard a *bit* of smearing in the midrange on the Eversolo but a full, rich bottom end. The Cambridge sounds neutral and a touch boring but I kind of like the sound.
I just ordered the Wiim Amp Pro, looking forward to trying it out.

I feel if I were blindfolded I wouldn't be able to reliably guess which is which, so I'll say that first. The Eversolo seemed slightly more enjoyable and the Cambridge seemed slightly cold. The Wiim was middle of the pack. I have good hearing for a 39 year old (tested recently, coincidentally) and tried listening with both a Meze Empyrean and a Sennheiser HD800S w/ a flat EQ. My takeaway is if an amp can power speakers to an enjoyable volume without clipping/distortion (most I assume), then there's little reason to spend beyond that dollar threshold unless you're getting additional features.

Closer than you would imagine given that price difference, but Cambridge Audio is the one I would choose if just sound was the only factor. However if starting out, given that digital audio is improving, I would happily put more money into speakers, accept cheaper electronics and upgrade the front end in the future. Sounds like a good plan, especially if you design end game speakers😊. Missed you not being at Bristol this year.

This time, I am able to spot some differences. Richer options have wider sound stages and more powerful sound, especially the Eversolo comb as, compared to the Wiim. It is indeed very impressive for the cost. As a collateral note, could you do a video on the Eversolo amp F2 in conjunction with A6 or A8 as preamp. Thanks.

One very important thing that isn’t talked is wiim room correction software, that thing improves sound drastically, I’m very impressed how good it is I’m my room.

I am an audiophile with 2 systems one new which consists of KEF E3 Metas, Hegel H190, KEF KC62 sub, WiiM pro streamer and Gustard R26 DAC I also have a vintage system which consists of Acoustic Research AR5 speakers and pioneer SX-950 with WiiM pro streamer and a EverSolo Z8 DAC. Having these systems I still ordered a WiiM amp just out of curiosity to try in my 2 systems to see how it sounds. I have a feeling it is a pretty good all in one for the money

I do hear the difference but not too much. Though I suspect it's due to the speaker's low impedence.
