I’ve found that adopting cleaning my house as sort of something I’m just always in the state of doing, it makes it SO MUCH MORE manageable and overall just helps me keep a house that’s tidier. If I let cleaning tasks build up and build up it becomes this big task to overcome but if I just do little things throughout the day it really just becomes simple habits to a cleaner home and truly makes cleaning feel so much easier and less daunting. Today I’m sharing the 9 habits I’ve adopted to a cleaner home.

Clean as you cook is something my high school home ec teacher made us do. Here I am 39 years later, still doing it!

Something my mom taught me as a kid is you always clean up the counters, wipe them down, and wipe the stove down after you're done with the dishes. I've always done it, it only takes an extra 5 minutes, and it helps things seem so much cleaner. It's not even something I think about either, it's just part of doing the dishes.

Totally agree on the tidying kitchen before bed. It makes such a difference in my mood in the morning.

Oh yes. Agree with every single one...especially pairing habits together. I get some washing into the machine whilst the dogs go out for their first play each morning (around 5am). I empty the dishwasher whilst my coffee brews. I do any dinner prep whilst I make the school/work lunches. By 7am my load of laundry for the day is done, the dishwasher is ready for the dishes and breakfast, lunch and dinner's ready to roll.
Permission to enjoy the rest of the day? Granted.

I have found that waking up to a clean kitchen and having coffee ready to go puts me in such a better mood.

I was recommended your channel from a girl in TikTok comments when I spoke about being overwhelmed with clutter and a baby and I can honestly say you've changed my entire mindset. Taking care of my future self has changed everything and I just wanted to say thank you 💕

And the best thing about your video is teaching your son very good habits about cleaning that will go with him throughout his lifetime. I did when my son was young and at home. I told him I would not always be around, he may be a bachelor all his life, or marry someone who had absolutely no interest in keeping a house clean. My son is now 34 and does all those things I taught him. Oh, and when he got old enough, I taught him about the laundry, meal prep, and household finances. It is just good sense that our sons learn to manage a household, too! Keep up the great work!

My kids special ed teachers told me to break down large tasks to smaller, sequential, manageable units for them. You nailed it! It works for everyone.

I let the dog out a quick sec and grind my beans, get my Bunn brewing in my gown and THEN make the bed & shower - I come out like 'Wow?' 'See that bed?' Somebody - Already made it for Me. 'Hey?' 'Smell that?' Somebody - Already got my coffee for Me too! It's my 1st 'little acts of loving myself' in the morning. I used to be a morning person, but with the years, I'm less. Except. for this. Get's me all energized to move forward with the day. Thanks Me! Then I sit out in the fresh air with the dog again for at least 15 min to hear the birds singing. He loves a minute to lay in the damp grass. Cool air on my face + Hot coffee in my fav mug = Paradise. Then, 'ladies & gentlemen, start your engines!!' Lol. XoXoX.

I'm almost 8 months pregnant and have just recently stumbled upon your channel. I'm in my hard core nesting mode right now and you have given me so much insight as to how to stay sane and prepare for baby and post baby. From your shopping/meal prep to cleaning and letting go of things, it has already made a huge differencein our lives. Thank you so much, it had been insanely helpful ❤

My mother had a rule at home’ if it takes less than a minute do it right away! Ex: shoes on the wrong place: less than A minute to put in the closet! Glass on the counter top : less than a minute to place it in the dishwasher! My whole house lived by this rule and we always had a clean and organized house that my momma was proud and I do the same with my husband nowadays and I will be applying this rule to kids when I became a mother

Excellent tips. One thing I do when I cook is have a sink full of hot soapy water to put in items I have used while cooking ie pot and pans and items that don’t go easily into the dishwasher. You videos always have great content. And your vibe is like we could be friends!

When my kids were young I would have a routine after dinner when I set the alarm for ten minutes and they had to clean their rooms in that time or do as much as they could. It really helped to keep the level of mess to a minimum.

I trained myself to make the bed immediately in the morning and totally agree about cleaning the sink/ counters before going to bed. My big problem is paper clutter😊 working on it!

My dad gave us a little handheld vacuum and I thought I'd never use it- I was SO wrong! I use it as a dustpan. I've also vacuumed up glitter, crumbs, kinetic sand leftovers, etc off the table. Works awesome@

I feel like the best reward there is after cleaning IS all this cleanliness itself. It's weird how much happiness I got from your cleaned up kitchen and living room. And thank you for these good tips, have been using some for ages (like the sink & clean as you cook), will start others as well :)

Great tips! While I'm waiting for my morning coffee (which can seem like forever) I kill the time by emptying the dishwasher...this habit has helped me tremendously!
