I learned this lesson the hard way. i was trying to remove the grease with a cloth. cloth got sucked and my hand came with it. luckily, only the tip of my finger got chipped. not the whole thing. hurts like hell like losing a finger tho.

Advice against this was given to me by someone whose friend did this in highschool and completely mangled a hand. I really wanted to eyeroll, but managed not to. Thanks for the good advice :l It is good advice

Been there done that, cleaning the chain, very lucky only ripped the top of my thumb off

Or let a bit of cleaning cloth drag left thumb between sprocket and chain while right hand not so gently turns wheel.

It will cause grief that needs a lot of time from a surgeon.
