Steps to delete unknown partitions and format USB flash drive
Go to Windows search box and run command prompt as an administrator
Type ↪ disk part ↩ and hit enter
Type ↪ list disk ↩ and enter
Find your USB flash drive from the list, you can do it by the size of the disk Or Open Computer Management and compare it by Disk number.
Select your USB flash drive by typing ↪ select disk (your USB disk number here) ↩
Then type ↪ list partition ↩
Find unknown USB partition by size, that you want to delete and select it, by typing ↪ select partition (your USB partition number here) ↩
Type ↪ delete partition ↩ to delete unknown USB partition
Type ↪ list partition ↩ to check result
format the USB drive.

I will add some tips as I ran into problems. First off, if you are unable to delete a partition, instead of "delete partition", use "delete partition override".
Then, if you delete all of the partitions like I did, you then need to go to disk management and scroll down where you will find the disk, it will be labeled as "unallocated". You then need to right click it and "create new simple volume". This will make it useable again.

How to fix a USB drive fragmented into separate partitions

Open Command Prompt or Powershell with Admin Privileges by right-clicking on the desktop Start button or pressing Windows + X.
Once in the command line interface, type in ‘diskpart’
Then type ‘list disk’ to see all disks listed. It should show all your connected hard drives with an associated number. Make a note of your flash drive number, then type ‘select disk [drive number goes here’.
Once you’ve selected that, you can now begin to action on the drive. Enter in ‘clean’, then ‘create partition primary’.
Next, format your drive by entering in the command ‘format fs=fat32 quick’
Type ‘active’, then ‘assign.’
Once you’re done, type exit to finish your work. Once this is done, your flash drive should be restored to normal.

If this still not work and showing error like this: Can't delete a partition without the force protected parameter set

select partition first then write "delete partition override" without double quotes symbol instead "delete partition".

If I take my usb to another computer it does not show several partitions it is normal
Is it the usb ports that there is something wrong

i inserted my thumb drive and it shows 2 partition,
-7mb read only
-7.29gb Online(this based on computer management section)

when i check computer management, both shows as primary partition

when it tried cmd and list disk, instead of showing a single drive that have 2 partition, it show for me a 2 drive
when i try "select disk, list partition" on both of disk, it only show single partition, how do i fix this

How about when you're hooking up the an HDD drive an old hard drive with an external hard drive case or thing you bought the hooks up to the USB when you type in to the main command prompt this list net right as you typing in the second part of it list this I believe it is whatever and it disconnects from your USB port on accident not due to somebody pulling on it but because you had no computer in the ports literally didn't hold it in there and it doesn't show up on Windows explorer and it doesn't show up in the disk manager and it shows a dynamic d drive online and three partitions in your main hard drive and it lifts the wrong number for your drive for number to know what it is and it has allocated all its volume to the new partition that's on your disk drive that is your d drive your your laser disc drive and it will not let you formatted it will not let you take it out it won't even let you safely eject your mass storage device I've got it to reallocate to where it says on allocated in a space but then it disappears again every time I try and do something with it I've disabled it I've uninstalled it and I've done it over and over again for pretty much day now and it just now I got to a part I must say after I tried to redo it the command prop wouldn't work anymore do to the management but it worked for the device manager just not the dismanagement part so it wouldn't look up the disc part I could only find it in the dismanagement and you have to go in and click show hidden files and you'll you'll see it and it won't let do anything to get your it says hook up the disk drive back to it and when you do so it still does nothing what do you do then cuz that really sucks so people make sure you got a good connection when your computer when you hooking things up to it I don't I didn't have any kids running around my daughter my youngest daughter is 11 and my other two are grown and out it literally just disconnected from the vibrations of the disc spinning I guess are the weight alone with the force of gravity pushing down on it and that's it just came unconnected and literally caused all these problems it messed up my registry completely like duplicated all the files put them on all different kinds of different places and two different copies of the same Windows installation in the tools and everything it's well it sucks and on top of it I'm not a very good reader speller I'm I'm talking on a machine right now to even communicate so you can count me pretty much illiterate that's why I'm looking up these videos to try and get the information 👍🇺🇸
