Gazprom Says Nord Stream to Remain Shut After Tech Issue

Russia's Gazprom PJSC said its key gas pipeline to Europe can't reopen as planned on Saturday as a new technical issue has been discovered. Simon Casey reports on "Balance of Power."

EU-Germany especially, was hoping the war would be over regardless of the victor, before winter. The goal being to lay the groundwork for re-normalized gas trade with Russia while there was still ample time. Now winter fast approaches. Overplayed their hand.

Seimens have independently inspected the turbine pump and have deemed it faulty, needing workshop repairs to fix an oil leak. Russia has NOT decided to shut down NS1 unilaterally as suggested, it cannot be repaired quickly. Sanctions have made these repairs almost impossible . The EU have caused their own difficulties.
