8 Billion dollar’s for of the biggest rail projects in Europe? And here we were trying to spend £120 Billion on a rail project in the UK.

At $8 Billion, that is one of the best deals ever.

€10M per km! If only we could build like this in the UK.

The UK should hire them to sort out it's rail network

$8 BN for 800km is pretty decent.

CA spent $50BN for 0 km

We can’t even build a line from London to Manchester

We can’t even build a 15km road tunnel in Australia for 25 billion.

Meanwhile in England we are concentrating our efforts on filling potholes, and miserably failing at that!

This is what I like to see. Countries and governments putting money into infrastructure and projects that all benefits the people for generations to come. Imagine if the whole world took all their money that they spend on the war and just did useful projects that were just benefit the people. I know we need armies and stronger alliances and will always probably be that way but we can dream can’t we?

I hope we finally get that Finland-Estonia tunnel built in my lifetime.

Amtrak is like, what???
I like traveling by train 🚃🚂, it's relaxing, no TSA, no baggage fees. Easy to sleep 😴, the track is like a rocking chair 🪑💺

US should hire them to build rails here

The California High speed railway started in the 1970s. Now 50 years later, they barely started and it’s gonna end up costing for $100 billion. That’s just the current cost

240km/h and the cost is 10mil per km that is just wild

We need this level of motivation in Australia.

In the states, a “study” conducted for a future rail line would push that $8B envelope very quickly. $8B, and not a shovel picked up

That's long enough to get half way up California!

meanwhile the UK is getting left rapidly. Our fall from grace continues....with the HS2 debacle highlighting this very painfully indeed.

But the Baltic States have embraced high speed rail, and the greater connectivity that it provides. I hope this project is a huge success, and good on all three countries for coming together and collaborating on such an epic project. 👏👏👏👍

This is what planning ahead for the long term looks like. Take note the UK - clearly, we've much to learn from this.
