But all these newcomers need a way to get around, and it's making things crowded.
To tackle the growing pains, Seattle has been working hard on expanding its rail system. The latest push, Sound Transit 3, plans to invest $54 billion over the next 25 years to grow the network five times its current size. And with the recent $1.2 trillion Bipartisan Infrastructure Bill, cities across the U.S. are getting a fresh shot at revamping their public transit, with Seattle’s expansion possibly being one of the most ambitious.
