Linux Mint 20 XFCE vs. Lubuntu 20.04

Comparison of two identical Dell Latitude 131L (AMD Turion 2 GHz) Laptops.
Booting, login, Browser benchmark, Memory usage and shutdown.

Xfce is lightweight desktop, so is KDE and the lxqt. When those laptop's have gnome installed it will take a few minutes more to complete the booth process. I have 2 machines in use. One old 32 bit Acer running Debian xfce for account management and one 64bit hp for music. HP Linux Debian KDE. Uptime 6 months 14 day's. The 32 bit, uptime is 2 years

Lubuntu broke with me two times in 4 months. In one of them I had to reinstall the entire system. If your machine is good enough to use any other DE, do NOT change to Lxqt or lubuntu and you will be doing yourself a favor

Mint is great but Lubuntu better. In Lubuntu you can power-off monitor immediately with screen-lock to Ctr+Alt+L. We run Lubuntu on 7 PC's since 14.04

It’s weird that both take that time to boot up! Probably, HW limitations. I have Linux Mint 20.2 in an i7 core machine, and the boot-up speed is tremendous! Same with windows 10!

Acho que voce vc pode me ajudar instalei o mint no meu netbook acer o pequeno... nao consigo baixar os programas normalmente para instalar, vem tudo tar.gz ai descompacto as pastas e nao consigo fazer instalaçao, exemplo: pycharme pra programar em python....
primeiro tentwi Ubuntu... ficou lento ai fui pro linux minti...

wow, i don't have enough patience to use mint or lubuntu. so i prefer barebone arch.

and be honest, the machine in the left, has a faster cpu. lol.
