Make the AMEX Green the catch all with 2% on all other purchases, 3X Travel, 3X Transit (Tolls, Gas, Subway, Bus, Taxi, Ferry, etc.) along with a $120 UBER subscription ($9.99 per month), or annual $120 UBER CASH ($10 monthly) credit. AMEX would create an amazing Trio. Platinum for Travel, GOLD for foodies and Green for commuting. Green goes metal also.

Would help if Amex Platinum actually had spending categories in travel. Green, which is first in the ladder, has more general earning on travel than Platinum so that contradicts what he said in his reasoning for Gold and Platinum.

It should be:
- Green: limited 3x on gas/transit/grocery, and 1.5x catchall
- Gold: 3x dining, 4x on grocery, and 5x portal on hotels/car rentals and 3x on generic travel
- Platinum: 5x on airfare (portal not required), 10x portal on hotels/car rentals, 4x on dining and lounge access.

Then there's a gradual progression, a reason to want to level-up, while still having a benefit to having all three cards.

I wish the platinum 1x on all other purchases will be increased. However, what do you think of this thought, instead of having other cards that get cash back at higher multipliers, just buy everything with the platinum and make sure the multipliers happen when you transfer points at 5+?

Platinum needs a refresh. At its core, I still see it as a travel card, over a lifestyle card, as I don't really care about luxury in my daily life. For travel, however, I prefer to have at least some luxury.

I think having a limited access to the centurion lounge on the green and gold would be a great benefit. Some kind of tiered system would work. For instance spend 20k on the green get two free passes.
