A Lagiacrus in the Deep...

Deep below the waves a debate for territory takes play... With the only evidence of these negotiations being the bright lights of their energy, and the low bass sounds of their power.

Also RIP Lagiacrus... Our Classic Leviathan Boi, who was literally to big for Monster Hunter to handle...

This is scary enough but imagine seeing Nakarkos' eerie lights start glowing in the back

Fun fact: Some *_Alatreons_* live in the *_bottom of the oceans_* just to avoid any living life. So imagine a group of Full Fledged Hunters diving into the abyss to study various ecosystem like documenting this scene - only to run into a fucking _BLACK DRAGON_ of all things.

This is beautiful and a really well done display but I can't help but just hear two guys yelling about something stupid whenever I hear animals fighting over territory- like the fucking "You have uno" debate-

I was genuinely expecting them to suddenly turn towards the camera and start to get close after each spark and then a muffled Lagiacrus roar

This is unreasonably cool AND creepy.

I can imagine them using this to find each other to mate just how Tigrex use their roars to find other Tigrexes!

Equally so, I can see Nakarkos imitating these light patterns to lure in unsuspecting Lagis to eat!

Possible that, asside from hunt and defense, electricity is used by lagiacrus, the 3 kind, to communicate in the dark of night/depth, or even at all since you can see small dots on lagia bodies that may be electrical senser, like shark have. Those creature may not be exactly social, but many other leviathan are, ludroth and agnaktor for exemple, but mizustune too since the only agressives ones are the male in mating season, so it's not stupid to assume they have way to communicate peacefully with one another, at least for mating and avoiding useless battle.

And for the fact that it may or may not be an abyssal, lagiacrus can go very deep in water, and in real life many large animal can swin very deeply anyway, way more than pepole tend to think. Abyssal lagiacrus may just be lagiacrus that never go on land and, being bigger and seemingly able to breath underwater, may never ever see the light of the sun at all. We do not even know how deep monster hunter world's ocean can get, only that you found ceadeus and abyssal lagiacrus very deep underwater, so imagine wat we could discover if we could go there.

These Lagiacrus couples communicate in deep waters with bright lights and vibrations, one tells his mate about what happened with the Rathalos and the Jaggi pack thanks to studies from scholars

Imagine being out at sea in the night on your boat, then you see these lights, realize there's two sources moving around, and they are getting closer to you ...
Thank you so much for making such a cool scene with my favourite monster.

The shockshell electricity acts similar to IRL bioluminescence, except generally for displays of power/electrical capacity in a large leviathan instead of natural toxins or for finding a mate (though it could very well serve that function too, as bioluminescence is multi-purpose) while allowing them to see more clearly(?).... love it lol.

I just wanna say how much i appreciate your content, for as much as the monsters are treated like actual animals we rarely get to see them act like it so it's incredible that you bring them to life this way :>

Just realized how freaking terryfing would be to hunting in the sea(pls mh6 bring underwater), swimming far from the land and then you get out of the depths a blue light... that's a sign of a mh moment "well shiiit"

Probably how Lagiacrus, and especially the Abyssal subspecies, communicate.

Beautifully made.

This is great, the deep sea has always been one of my favorite aspects of biology, I hope you do one of these with Namielle sometime! I can only imagine how elegantly it would swim around with its huge wings.

I think it's scarier to have the lagiacrus coming from afar in the ocean. This ominous dark blue shadow getting bigger as it comes toward you, and eventually you see it : two red dots, ondulating yet unmistakenly fixing you.

Now that shit was seared in my memory when I played mh3u
