Many families out of homes, hundreds of thousands of dollars after builder files for bankruptcy

Numerous people have filed suit against Bella Vita Custom Homes stating they didn't complete the work even after money was paid

This is why when I build my house I'm just going to hire all the contractors myself. Electric, roofing, flooring, etc. will all be done by different companies that I find based on my own research and reviews by other people who have hired them. I figure if I do it that way if I see something I don't like I can fire them and find someone else.

Your home should be built on your builder’s dime, not yours. You should pay for work completed as it is completed. This is so scammy.

Wrong On So many levels, no doubt, But how do u spend three years researching the best contractors to build ur dream home ONLY to find the worst contractor of them all and get ripped off.... I don’t understand that AT ALL...

Honest builders and developers are far and few between. They also set up HOAs along with the CC&Rs for the sole purpose of THEIR benefit, not the homeowners. If the homeowners do benefit, it was unintentional.

This is were a old fashioned ass whooping comes in eye for eye. I was a contractor ok a hand shake to me better than any written contract. I had to shut down after 15 years. I would fly out Friday night to customers site in North America, Canada and Mexico on normal basis back home Monday evening. During week worked ass off. Specialize in old homes Victorian Style we even had 5, 000 sf home shipped from Italy to Indiana. Ok off my story had a guy that i graduated with me remodel strip to wall studs, floor joist and rafters. Finish this later time. NEVER EVER Trust HOME OWNERS.
