2 weeks searching and I've finally found a useful tutorial on the topic, watched your audio setup too. You're a life saver. I'm gonna attempt this tonight!

Thank you so much! This was extremely helpful. The screen-duplication method that a lot of other YouTubers state that it works actually seems to cap the 144hz monitor at 60hz. On the other hand, your method worked efficiently and smoothly. Happy streaming! 😎👌🏽

Dude... Thank you so much lol. Everyone else was confusing the living heck out of me and I thought I'd need to spend 200+ on another capture card and I wanted to freaking cry. I just got my 1440p monitor and didn't want to give it up either lol.

Very important note to consider n research on. OBS Fullscreen preview does not transfer 60hz. N it was confirmed by OBS Devs.

This looks like a good solution as well.
I was able to clone my monitor to my capture card in Nvidia control panel and also maintain 165hz on my gaming moniter.
I think it has to do with the order that you clone it. Sometimes it puts the capture card as the main monitor and caps the framerate to that, which is often 60fps.
Having the monitor cloned is working well for me, I can plug in/unplug my capture card and it does not affect the fps in my games.

Thank you so much! I had gotten this to work in the past while using the clone method but the stream itself had screen tearing. I couldn't remember how I set it up that way to make it work and just changed my streaming build and could not remember how to set it up the way I previously had it. This helped a ton and now i don't have the screen tearing on the stream! Thanks for saving me over $300 on a capture card swap!

I notice some FPS drops when having OBS open, it says it uses 10% of my CPU, i might need to disable some settings

Only works in fullscreen games and not borderless games, so games like WoW, Gears or any MS games, you can forget it
