This is the most well informed video on High arches and Plantar fasciitis. Honestly its amazing how many doctors get this wrong

Your recommendations make very good sense. LOT OF docs SAY nothing about high arch feet. They seems to approach these issues as’ one size fits all’ to address all plantar fasciitis issues. I appreciate your diligence in approaching the solution for we ‘high arch’ people. Thank you so much.

Easily the best high arch vid I've found on YouTube, thanks for the information & tips. Mine are very high & I only really realised it was a thing after recieving physio in the (Royal) Air Force aged 30 (I'm 49 now!) for knee & back issues, the PTI was amazed I'd gotten that far in life just putting up with all the issues they were causing, I suppose it was just a case of coping especially when I didn't know there was even a problem.
Thanks again, great stuff 😊

This blew my mind. I’ve had knee pain, low back pain, and problems with my leg muscles my whole life. I’ve been pushing through trying to stretch out my hamstrings, and calves. Literally, I’ve never been able to do a hamstring curl with more than 10lbs without a tearing sensation. I’ve lost over 40lbs last year, I’m committed to living a healthy lifestyle, but leg day has been demoralizing. It’s not a feeling of muscle fatigue, but muscle tearing. I have to do body weight exercises and even then it’s brutal.
I love running, but I can’t do it. I started running, and I needed 5 days to recover. I was limping around everywhere. It honestly is just embarrassing. I know I can do more but my legs won’t let me.
I’ve always known my feet are weird but I never made the connection.
It still might be something else but at least I have a better idea now.
I’m going to be seeing a specialist soon.

Wow 47 seconds into the video and I'm already feeling attacked 😂😂 I get really bad pain in my arches if I'm stood too long, my heels are constantly in agony and if there was an award in school from the about of sprained ankles I'd win every time! Every other day I'd twist my ankle or I'd describe it as "rolling over" like I walk on the outside of my feet and I have penguin feet like they naturally turn out! Standing with my feet facing forward is like asking someone with parallel feet to point their toes in xxx

I’ve been dealing with Plantor since last summer. First Dr. suggested doing steroid shots which I stopped after 4x within about 8 months. Next Dr. said I have Cavus foot and asked if I wanted it fixed, obviously I said whatever it takes. He then put me in a boot after taking a custom mould of it. 5 weeks later I go in for my mould and I guess that’s it. 2-3 weeks in and still pain, nothing is fixed and I’m out $1800 for something I could of gotten myself on Amazon for $150. That’s 3 different doctors now that’s done nothing but collect money. I need a real doctor and don’t understand how anyone can call themselves a professional and be this poor at their ineffective profession. This doctor sounds like he knows what’s going on. Too bad he’s not closer

Truly the best video on the subject. Thanks a lot, now I know what to do. Been taking falls because of twisting my ankles outwards for years having no idea why.

Oooh my days! I'm 41 and have been over conscious about my feet, really high arch and hammer toes, until today when I first Googled and now YouTube searched high arch feet . Thankyou

Edit: I wanna cry!! Cry that there is treatment for this condition and I've never done anything about it before. I don't suffer pain (only when I sprain my ankles 🙈) but the anxiety is on another level!

As a kid I was told I had high arches and a bone out of place in my feet. The Podiatrist built supports into my shoes and that helped. Question- the soles of my shoes wear out first on the outside because I seem to walk on the outsides of my feet. What causes that? Thank you for such good teaching. You are really blessing many people.

Love your videos and this one was super informative. I just found I have super high arches, and watching this one was an eye opener. I have an ASD kid who is still a toe walker at 10. Do you have any videos on toe walking that cover the damage he's doing to his feet (like this one) that don't dwell on surgery? 99% of what I've found would freak him out so bad he wouldn't watch.

Thank you so much for this video, this is the clearest explanation i've seen so far about high arches and finally i've understood i've high arched feet with over pronation. It can be seen specially on my right foot, my right shoe is always bent inward and wretches faster.

I have super high instep and arches, to the extent that when weight bearing standing barefoot no part of my arch touches the ground, and vast majority of orthotics provide no contact through the arch either, my feet ar super high volume and pretty rigid but no hammer toes, no bunions. In most shops it is EXTREMELY hard to find shoes I can get my feet into - straps too short to do up, sides would not meet tongue in lace-ups or trainers, boots impossible to get my foot in I used to get pain on top of foot through simply having shoes crush top of foot - but cured that by finding super deep super wide shoes designed for diabetics. Am not diabetic and my feet are not swollen - but simply getting a low-rise, high volume shoe with cushioning at the front made a world of difference. Brookes walker in width 8E provides good cushioning, decent neutral support and wonderful high volume comfort. btw they neglect women so had to go to a mens US 6.5 8E - am a uk size 5 or EU 39. In DB shoes, many styles in width 6V or width 8E - some admittedly a little grannyish - but omg the COMFORT and support Can walk and stand all day without pain! No orthotics needed - just room enough not to crush my foot!!! If you like hiking Merrell has some good options or ( with strap extenders ) the Ecco off-road range is tough, supportive and above all comfortable. I get the leather+velcro strap extenders at DB shoes.

I have over supination issues, to the point where on my right foot, I am almost walking on the side of my foot. So I get the chronic ankle pain / swelling and soreness all down the side of that right foot.

All this time, I thought my ankle was the issue, but now I am thinking it is perhaps the over supination as wearing a supination OTC orthotic made a world of difference to prevent the foot and ankle rolling out.

Going to go see a professional now for an evaluation. My whole right side (leg) is also tight due to a past herniated disc on that side and subsequent surgeries due to severe s1 nerve impingement.

I work from home so perhaps “house shoes” with a good custom orthotic are in order.

Very informative video. Many thanks!

I’m almost 40 years old and just recently discovered I have a very high arch. I thought my feet were just normal. Now I know why the balls of my feet hurt so badly. Thank you for the info!!

I have calluses on my feet in places ive never seen on anyone else. When i was a kid i used to complain about shoes not fitting me properly and tightness of the laces, i wouldn't run because of discomfort and when i would walk or run without shoes on i could feel the bones of my heels hit the pavement. Like... zero shock absorption. I have intense hip and pelvic floor pain and my posture is really bad. I still struggle to find shoes that feel comfortable i tend to stick with adidas or shoes that are two sizes too big.
