Statistics Probability 11: Joint-Density Expected Value Example

preview_player
Показать описание
Simple "joint-density" function problem to find the expected value of a random variable.

In the future this channel will mostly have math problem solving videos. I have a degree in Applied Math and Statistics and instead of letting it go to waste, why not make YouTube videos to help students currently on the grind. The format for all videos will be example/solution.

Sorry if I go a little too fast on the videos. Still getting the hang of making them. I hope to get better at making these over time. Thanks for watching.

how would you have done expected value of Y?

I think you confused the CDF and the PDF. If x^2*Y^3 is the PDF, it should integrate to 1 when we take all the area, but when I did so, I got 1/28.
