22 years in the trade. Not once have we had an issue with gfci's being installed with an impact.

For the people saying he shouldn’t be back stabbing, back entry terminals that tighten down on the with a screw are a lot safer than the problematic spring loaded back stabs on cheap outlets that should never be used.

Regardless of whether thats true or not, the time i save by using an impact on every single gfci, vs the time i waste on replacing faulty gfcis on warranty houses, i still save way more

I’ve installed 100, 000+ with a drill and as long as you don’t have it on impact, I could see your argument. Even though I’ve never had a problem as we test everything. Also, twist your live wires whilst making up for your GFCI as trimming out can cause issues if you don’t. Stay safe❤

Dewalt gyro driver for me. Those things are awesome.

You can use a Milwaukee M12 fuel impact but have it on setting 1.

Naw most common mistake is when the mix up line with load because the new GFCI is reversed and they wire it the exact way it was before instead of reading the back, and identifying line/ load.

Always remember, guys, quality electricians don't use stabe backs. Use hook and loop method 😂

My dewalt has three settings on it, use the lowest setting or use a 12v. Run all the screws down till it clicks once, torque it with a hand driver. #1 square head works best. But yes, a gfci has many smaller, much more fragile components inside, so its best to be careful with them. It can also squeeze the wire which stresses and makes a weak point on the conductor.

"Quality Electric" showing you how to install a generic Chinese gfci. I've installed thousands of name brand ones with the impact and had no issue.

Shouldn’t be using an impact on any screw terminals. Use a torque calibrated screwdriver if you want to be 100% accurate

Use a flat bladed screwdriver because a number two Phillips does not fit right. Tighten it up wiggle your wire tighten it up one more turn and you're done.

I've seen the little kids with flat tip screwdrivers it has the number 2 cross slot on them as well they work pretty good too

I usually use a breaker bar to torque those screws down, also why isn’t there a pigtail?

Everyone always acts like they know something no one else does.
They're not that damn delicate.

Wouldn't the impact driver give you a more consistent torque tho
