The more we study people, the more we have learned that there are actually different variations of alpha males, and beta males. Now there is a new personality seeming to come about which people are calling the sigma male. Sigma males are a very popular topic right now in psychology, and people are starting to pay attention, and notice sigma males around them. Though, Sigma males have actually always been around doing their own thing, not taking orders from anyone, breaking some rules, and also making new rules.

So what is a sigma male?

A sigma male is a man who leads his own life outside of the normal social dominance hierarchy. They have similar traits when you compare them with alpha males, but they also have many differences. Sigma males often work for themselves, and find their own way to becoming financially independent. So…….I am here because a woman at work said I was a sigma male. I asked her what the hell was that supposed to be. She said I was basically a “quiet alpha without the drama”, but to Google or YouTube it for myself, so this and a few her places is where I landed. What you describe basically fits my personality. Now that I know what she was talking about, I can move on to something else more interesting to me.
One thing to note: I can handle being around all kinds of personalities with the exception of an alpha female.

Funny...when looking at all the 10 traits... i have at least 7 of them in me. Introvert, like to be alone, i never look for validation, rules are not me but it doesn't mean I don't respect it and I definitely think everyone's opinion is important and do respect it even if I may not agree. Sigma Male has a lot of LEO in them... which is interesting as I am a LEO Star.

I don't look for constant adulation nor do I need a ego boost all the time even though I always get it without asking yes I am the quiet type but people know I have a temper when I get in a verbal argument publicly I can be scary but I try my best to stay cool calm and collected at all times
