I wanted to master the art of Yoshimitsu. So I spent 1 week attempting to learn how the character works, how to play him, and trying to climb in ranked.

As a Yoshi main since Tekken 3, my advice is: don’t force the cool moves to happen. Instead, wait for an opportunity and then quickly react. If you go around using the copter/flea/bad breath etc. all the time, your opponents will always call you out. It’s hard not to use those moves a lot, since that’s Yoshi’s unique thing, but you just need to focus and rely on fundamentals and treat the special moves as an ace up your sleeve, not your bread and butter.

you became a true yoshi main when you said im not trying to win but trying to use as many moves as possible.

As 800 hr yoshi player. For beginer to learn flash is flashing when you get hit by lows. Many low on hit put you in minus 4 - 5 frame, especially those low with standing animation. If your opponent try to pressure you after the low, they will get flashed. And slowly, you will get the feeling and experience to flash. For more advance use, use it to punish. Its perfect punishment for spring kick, king's power crush, etc.

As a new yoshi player on controller. The most helpful thing I did was rebind my shoulder and trigger buttons to multiple buttons presses, this helped me access yoshi’s moves a lot easier.

You seem much better than me as far as potential goes. You will go far at your current rate. Never stop learning.

2:24 Seeing this just after going through what felt like an endless horde of Lucky Chloe players with Yoshi in ranked right before T8 releases felt so relatable LOL

More Yoshi ranked, please! Love your content. I'll be tuning in for more.

I'm just a Fujin rank Yoshi and I am extremely impressed by your use of his uppercut (df 2) in your gameplay. It's a great keep out tool to make your opponents regret running into you. xD

My biggest tip for you is 3 of Yoshi's defensive tools:

1) Flash

2) Kincho parry

3) Spinning evade

Option 2 is a little advanced and has little application so don't worry about that yet.

But do NOT sleep on spinning evade. Back 3 3 (or b4 4) is your Get out of jail free card for most of your opponent's retaliation. Yes, it costs a bit of life but it is worth it.

Whiff punish with b2, 2 or df2 launch them for a combo. And even if you forgot to punish, you can still threaten them with Fubuki Knee (ff4) or dash into them for a low or throw. 👍

Yoshimitsu might be roughly 90% cheese but that's what makes him memorable and awesome. Great video, keep up the good work and I hope we'll see your Tekken 8 videos soon!

I'm impressed with your thought process I've seen many people give up as soon as the difficulty jumps you just don't get better at anything. Practice makes perfect as the old saying goes

Great vid, especially with the Omega Strikers OSTs. Honestly, it finally clicked with me what kind of FGC vids I wanna make myself - documenting the journey of improvement and learning. Good stuff, keep it up!

A fun video that motivates me to keep at it with my character main. I got a friend who's a yoshi main tho and i have so much respect for the character's movent and creativity. Time to jump on ranked before T8

This video has taught me things. I started playing Tekken and maining Yoshi today. I did pretty good. My strat is usually low attacks and when there is enough distance use his special attack. And if I'm dying, I heal and if they try to get closer, teleport. I'm still a noob tho, so I only won most of the time because my friends were going slightly easy on me and I abuse the healing ability where i win the match by having more health.
