The leg trip was downright sneaky, skillful, and totally unexpected, his best performance of the tournament, IMHO.

just look at his quads 🤩🤩, those are not his legs but oak trees. Rooting for Hakuoho in September basho too. Wish him a very long and a very successful sumo career. go hakuoho, Hakkeyoi!

When Hakuoho slapped his mawashi it brought back nostalgic feelings of when Hakuho slapped his mawashi in his Yokozuna days. The way he did it resembled Hakuho's way of slapping his mawashi

This was my first time watching a Sumo event and I greatly enjoyed watching Hakuoho. I hope I see him a lot more as I'm able to watch more Sumo.

The match between Hoshoryu and Hakuoho was intense and the way they were staring each other down made me think there was some bad blood between them! But it turns out that these two are just fierce competitors and its good to see that they can still be friendly off the dohyo and show good sportsmanship. Love to see it.

Really enjoyed this recap of rising star Hakuoho's Makuuchi debut, especially with the interviews and that simple but touching moment when he bows to Hakuho in the corridor. I'm glad NHK and the JSA took a cue from all the many international sumo fans on Youtube, and created Sumo Prime Time.

Hakuoho is learning well from his master. He seems to be well rounded also - always showing respect for his opponents; other wrestlers and the officials. It's good to see someone that seems to understand sumo is a unique family...a wrestler does not exist on his own / for himself...he is learning a lot of aspects that other wrestlers sometimes forget. May he continue to do well :)

Been following him since he started shooting up the Juryo ranks. He got a bit lucky with retirements and poor performances opening up places in Makuuchi so he could just scrape in, but boy did he show everyone he didn't belong there at all, but instead belongs in Sanyaku. Showing much more refined and varied techniques than Hokuseiho his sempai.
Very humble and respectful too - he makes a slow, deep bow to the gyoji after receiving the prize envelopes, unlike most rikishi who just takes the envelopes and ignores the gyoji afterwards.
With Hakuho being his shishou, we have a magnificent gem in the hands of a legendary craftsman.

He deserves all the praise there is! This kid is amazing and quickly becoming a fav of mine. Was really surprising to hear him so mature and openly admit that he wasn't prepared to win just a mature down to earth kid! All the luck Hakuoho!!!!

The Power of his legs, his stance, and "though very young" his technique all remind me of Hakuho. This Man is headed for greatness

I remember that Hakuho had challenged him to win 11. When I saw his match against Takarafuji I thought the rookie was going to have learn the veteran tricks to compete in the top division. Amazingly he found a way to match his stablemaster's challenge. The final match on Day 15 was epic. Rooting for Hakuoho in September! Hope his hair grows fast.

I am impressed by his manners entering and exiting the ring. Formality should be making a comeback in this cultural event. Always a proper Rikishi

Young Hakuoho put out a spectacular performance👏👏👏! Should Hakuoho stay healthy and major injury free, I have no doubt Hakuho will shape him up to be a fantastic yokozuna🙌❤!
