i think the best way to learn tricks is to imagine them like a video game combo (at least that what i do)

Weirdly was just dreaming about this today. My ollies never go very high. Talk about knee bend. Maybe the pop of the tail against the concrete before lifting that back foot. Where the center of balance is, being hips, shoulders, etc, and where to land your feet once in the air.

In my experience its more of a, squat, pop, lift, lift, drag, squat again but in the air, drag horizontal, drop

I get the steps, and I have a solid Ollie on carpet or in the grass, but the moment I try to Ollie on the sidewalk or even a crack in the sidewalk, I end up having the board fly out from under me when I try to pop and end up landing on my back. Does anyone know what I’m doing wrong? 😅

You gotta jump before you start the pop so you actually get the board off the ground

does old grip tape thats not that grippy anymore affect your ollie when you drag

You only talked about how to make the board go up, and said nothing about how to make yourself go up. Skateboarders squat and jump to impart vertical momentum into themselves through the ground. This squat and jump is done with hands at the sides, and an explosive throwing of the hands outwards and upwards imparts more vertical momentum.

Maybe you can try to add that to your next video.
