The 2025 Yamaha YZ250F is officially here and the MXA wrecking crew spent multiple days testing on it to give you this Tested video. The main focus for 2025 was the suspension, the YZ250F has revised settings with an updated rear linkage, new valving front and rear, along with a lighter spring rate on the rear shock and new delta-shaped piston shims in the fork for enhanced stability, traction and a more planted front-end feel. The other updates are harder to notice, but the new model does come with a new map switch, a new throttle tube, and new foot peg mounts. Retailing for $8899, the 2025 YZ250F is always a force to be reckoned with in the 250 class.

great format on this vid Josh. well done! appreciate you mentioning the Twisted air-box mod.

buyers need to know the bog was not just a 2024 issue. those who are used to YZF low end grunt must now budget in the air-box fix if they want to make the most of the new bike.

Great video, thank you. A bit confused though. You compare the KX250 suspension several times, saying the KX has harsh forks compared to the YZ, but in a recent first impression vid on the 2025 KX250 you say it's plush. So I have to assume your comparing the 2025 YZ250F with the 2024 KX250. Would be great to clarify. Looking forward to the shootout!

Is this the bike that the BarX team will start the season on? Dilan Schwartz on a Yamaha is very good news.

The linkage doesn’t seem to be updated on 2025.
Still same part numbers as 2024.
For example linkage, frame, svingarm, so don’t know where the change is done?.

Wow, you fella's got it made living in California and getting to ride such great tracks! That Yamaha is such a beautiful bike, I wish I could buy one! But, I loath little Deegan so much that I just can't buy a Yamaha!

How is the engine backwards? It breathes from the front of the bike and the exhaust comes out of the back of the engine.

Wonder if you change map with stock ecu and change airbox to 450 you would get same results.

We noticed the forks are much stiffer on our 2025. Spring rate is like 2 steps stiffer. Low end is very weak. Tempted to try the TD Ecu & airbox, but you LOSE `1500 dollars, and you LOSE the power tuner app with this mod. Like one step forward and one step backward. sad you need to spend that much on a NEW bike.

I wish the yz250f and yz450 would come out of the box with an fmf 4.1 system

Since like 2002 ive liked the styling of yamahas mx bikes. For the first time, i dont think theyre particularly good looking... it Looks like a fat platypus. & really wide for some reason.

Reminds me of how crf's looked a few yrs ago. Not crazy about the upside down, backwards 90 degree reverse engine causing the gas tank to move as well as the airbox. If it aint broke, dont fck it up.
