The very definition of "Speculate to accumulate" is Lucky giving up his own stash for a plea deal to police ..A painful sacrifice but clever move .

Yes, Gotti acted like a spoiled brat, and he thought he was a celebrity! I hope the people of New York are tired of being shaken down. He was a bad guy pure and simple!

People pass too close one day they are gonna kill me.

Rides on Adelaide's highest death rate and injury road.
A road that bearly can have 2 cars fit at a time in many sections.
80% of the corners are blind with a rock wall hugging one side of the road with a long cliff/hill drop on the other. Where the lanes are narrow enough to high five the other person diving the opposite direction. Literally no possible way to allow the legal gap or even half of it ... between rider and car without being half to 3/4 in the opposite lane.

Now coming around a bend doing the legal speed to suddenly have to hard break because a self prick IN NEON puts both their life, the driver life, the oncoming traffic the other side the lane life, the SAS who are always first on the scenes lives, due to the fact you cannot see them or stopped cars around rock walls and until they are able to walk the cliff edges to get to a spot in front of the scene to use a traffic wand, fluros and signage that around that corner is an accident. Despite it now having huge truck with flashing lights and reflective stripping. You cannot see it.

The local SES volunteer workers have the highest burn out, PTSD and psychological aftermath because of the sheer amount of call outs, the severity of the injuries, the length of time it takes for the ambulance to get to the scene as they too have to navigate skinny roads that no one can pull aside and let them pass, they can't see ahead of the corners either, the description of the location is often vauge, Gorge road what end? Chain of ponds which section?
Remembering you can't get a chopper to 99% of those locations. Even highly expert pilots with close hillside maneuvering skills cannot get close enough to drop water during bushfires.
Most people who are critically injured die due to the time it takes for the people to save you to arrive. Because the roads are small, corners are blind and people cannot move over or out of the way to let them pass because they simply don't fit.

So you will very likely die on the scene. For something that you could have survived anywhere else pretty much.

And that's the point....
There are hundreds hills of safe places to ride. where cyclists to ride. That cars can give them the space they are legally obliged to do. That are accessible to emergency services and don't put them in danger trying to rescue the injured.

And if you must ride the most deadly roads why isn't it like other sports/recreations etc people take turns who is the safety person that week.

It's funny the desire to emulate the hero's and ride where they ride, compare times where they do.

But they don't want to emulate the safety part.
They don't have someone each week/ride be a safety car behind a pack.
They selfishly choose remove safety not just for them but everyone else too.
Risk everyone for their own selfish justifications when other places are available, other precautions are available.
But meh.. me me me me me me

Playing Russian roulette with the lives of people who did ask to play.

The irony of spouting be seen be safe 24/7 when you do the opposite. You ride in places you cannot be seen, where there is no where to get out the way of cars. No way the cars can get away from you or other cars.

Why would you not dress head to toe in black, no reflectors or lights and ride the centre line of a single lane highway?

Because it's dangerous, it's stupid and irresponsible. If something bad happens it's going to probably involve drivers in both directions and it's probably gonna end up in several injury or death.

Absolutely no different riding on narrow hills roads that you cant be seen.
Actually it would be safer if you rode at night because your lighting would give them visual warning you are around that bend. Even if you were dressed head to toe in black you would be more visible with lights at night, in the fog or rain. Than in the best weather wearing every bit of fluro you own.

Certain roads in the hills. You cannot be seen. You are not safe. Knowingly putting yourself and car drivers in a space with pretty much zero ability get out of the way, knowing the speed limits, the breaking time it takes for a car to stop in ideal conditions on a flat road with full visual range, with options to avoid impact.
