Sandra you are so right about wearing only a few things from the closet each time we dress. I'm in the process of purchasing items to fill my foundational garments gap and once I've done that I will take a good look at all the clothes and pare things down. I have far too many clothes but have actually decluttered over the past 2 years as I slowly work to rebuilding a more functional and efficient wardrobe. I enjoyed listening to your ideas and I've saved the video for future reference so I've made the list of your items. Only thing is I believe there were 8 items not 9.(1. jeans 2. white shirt 3. a tailored jacket 4. a classic trench coat if you live in cooler weather 5. accessories (scarves, brooches, necklaces, earrings, purse) 6. a pair of good shoes that are good and comfortable for walking and that go with anything. 7. surprise parings 8. neutral colours. Thanks for your lesson today. It will be useful as I move forward.

Scarves, scarves and more scarves! All shapes! Colours! Prints! Because I'm very short, I tend to wear monochromatic outfit, breaking it up with shades and textures. Then, there are the multi colour/ print scarves.

Your fashion videos are my favorite. Maybe you can do one advising a woman of a certain age how to build a wardrobe for casual outfits. Do I need 5 slacks or 10? I want to eliminate but can’t figure out the number that would work. My closet is overflowing and yet I gravitate to the same thing. I don’t think I could live with the idea of a capsule wardrobe but maybe something in between? I too have only one closet. Your style is so elegant. Keep the fashion videos coming.

I so agree - especially with good comfortable sneakers. I think a pair of white sneakers with jeans can take you anywhere! The older I get the more important comfort becomes. 😄 I need to get to work building a scarf collection. I've neglected that accessory in the past. Thanks for the inspiration!

Thank you my dear. I have been cleaning out my closets for so long and finally I feel the onion has been peeled for my Fall clothing. It feels wonderful and experiencing this lightness of spirit is what will inspire me to dig deep for the next 3 seasons.
