My impressions of stylish Parisian women begins with the hair. Older women have good haircuts and flattering colors. If they have grey hair then it is often silver or white. Or if they color it, they have regular touch-ups so that you seldom see sharply contrasting roots. When I visited Paris, with women from all over the world, you could identify French women by their use of scarves and wearing heels. Sure, you could see ballet flats or loafers but only tourists prefer athletic footwear or sandals that look good on gladiators. As an American, I am ashamed of how sloppily we dress. So many fashion influencers tout the comfort of garments as if everything should fit like a warm-up suit. I’m not in favor of bullet bras and corsets but bra straps and thongs are not outerwear.

I have worn Samsara by Guerlain for decades but it has been changed somehow. The scent doesn’t last and doesn’t have that rich deep scent anymore. If anyone has a suggestion for a new scent I’d love to hear it!

I’ve been wearing silk scarves for forty years, influenced by my elegant French colleagues years ago. I just love the look of them, plus they protect my sensitive neck from itchy cashmere and Merino wool in winter - everything bothers my skin.

I am a versatile character, my likes of perfumes differ: Elisabeth Arden Pretty, Versace Red Jeans, Guess Seductive, Cacharel Eden, Zara Twilight and a good old Yardley English Rose .... btw love both video, Italian and French, however my style has to adapt to living in the hot hot small country of Suriname...

I always loved Coco Mademoiselle but I wonder if sticking to the same fragrance dates you

Nothing like Samsara!
Can’t find anything to top nor replace Samsara …🤷‍♀️ I’m in the same predicament!
Try to find the ‘ruby red bottle’ (original)at duty free stores …

In Paris, those women stand out either on street level, at restaurants, or in tourist venues with their deep cut shirts or blouses with heavily male up face, messed up straggly hair, and loud talking and exaggerated laughters are American women. They stand out and people can identify them as Americans. Accurately. French women, even fashionable places in Paris, they keep their make up minimum, clad themselves with classic looks as this footage shows.
